Sexual Harassment Prevention
Photo: A scared womanMacro offers a multifaceted program to support Federal agencies’ and private sector organizations’ “zero tolerance for harassment of any kind” policies. Components include policy development, executive briefings, “train the trainers” facilitation, and monitoring the application of training. Our work covers an array of diversity-related issues with an in-depth focus on sexual harassment and discrimination. In addition, we conduct survey research services for organizations working with victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Your organization’s sexual harassment prevention consulting and training may include the legal definition of sexual harassment, types of conduct legally defined as sexual harassment, impact of sexual harassment on your staff and work environment, reporting and responding procedures, the supervisor’s responsibility, how to receive a complaint, anti-retaliation policies, and sexual harassment prevention.

The Maryland State Police Department selected Macro to provide professional consultants and trainers to develop a state-of-the-art prevention and resolution program. We set up a multifaceted program to support the Maryland State Police’s emphasis on “zero tolerance for harassment of any kind.” The program included a “train-the-trainers” component, executive briefings, policy development, and monitoring the application of training. Approximately 2,500 Maryland State Police employees, both civilian and sworn, received the training.

Young woman Sexual Assault Followup Survey
Macro conducted a followup survey for the Massachusetts Sexual Assault Prevention and Survivor Services (SAPSS)—the mission of which was to change social norms that foster sexual violence, encourage a climate where sexual assault is not tolerated, and promote and enhance effective and accessible services for all survivors of sexual assault. The purpose of this followup survey was to collect more in-depth population-based demographic, incident, and outcome data regarding the experiences of survivors of sexual assault. This survey helps to determine how much respondents use the services that are available and their levels of awareness and satisfaction with these services. It also gauges barriers to Massachusetts Department of Public Health-funded rape crisis services. This data was used to inform and improve survivor services as well as prevention efforts to reduce the occurrence of sexual assaults.
