Leadership Development
Photo: One co-worker standing ahead of four other co-workers showing leadership The science of leadership and management has greatly expanded in the last decade. Macro has been on the leading edge of that growth, moving from traditional command-and-control, top-down management to methods of influence and inclusion. We have developed a variety of approaches to leadership development, including 2-week residential skill-training programs, intensive 2-day overview seminars, personal effectiveness assessments, and individual executive coaching.

CSS wanted to develop an optimal long-term technical strategy that reflected its changing role and realigned vision and to deploy this strategy across its workforce. Macro supported this effort by working closely with key executives to identify and implement alternative strategies for engineering a vision change throughout the workforce. In addition, because effective change requires effective leadership, we mentored and coached executives on leadership issues related to organizational change strategies. Other Macro support included facilitating meetings, working with key players on implementation strategies, and providing models and best practices that address reorganization efforts.

For the past 6 years, Macro has conducted an Adult Leadership Academy for the Milton Hershey School (MHS). Macro consultants worked with MHS to design, develop, and carry out a comprehensive leadership development program that includes learning objectives, instruction, skill building, evaluation, and individualized leadership development plans. During this project, Macro has researched the best practices used by schools and businesses to develop leadership. This research included the content of leadership development program curricula, teaching and learning methodologies, and participant selection. Macro then designed a detailed program outline, including the development of appropriate curriculum, and prepared course materials and additional services upon request.
